The Path Leads to Bristol

Commisioned by local charity Bridges For Communities & Arnolfini Arts Gallery, I art directed and shot a series of portraits as a reflection of the then exhibition displaying work by renowned artist and photographer Hassan Hajjaj and his exhibition The Path. Bridges For Communities are a Bristol-based charity that connects people of different cultures, races and faiths in order to facilitate friendship and build understanding.

The project concept was to reflect the diverse community of refugees and asylum seekers in Bristol in the style of Hajjaj’s work by highlighting a group of individuals and exploring themes of culture, identity and story. I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing many people who aren’t included in the final public collection and who decided to keep their portrait private.
